The Vice Sutra update

I received an email today from Vagabondage Press which stated that the proposed release date for my first novel, The Vice Sutra, is July 2013. I can't wait to hold the book I started writing in 2003 in my hands.

A Good Week

This past week I found out that my flash fiction piece "The Problem with Pretty Girls" will appear in an upcoming issue of Hoot Review. Whether it will appear solely on the site with audio or as a postcard publication has yet to be decided, but I'm honored to have the work out. Also, my essay "When It was Funky" which details my college admiration of the most-arrested man in America, and how romantic ideas often fall away will be out in the next issue of Atticus Review. When the works are out I'll post the links here.

Iowa Short Fiction Prize

I received word today that my short story collection The Geography of Love was named a semi-finalist in the Iowa Short Fiction Prize. While it didn't win, it was named a semi-finalist (one of the top twenty) out of three hundred plus manuscripts. Close, but no cigar. The letter was sweet and incredibly encouraging though. Hopefully something will come of it. Keep your fingers crossed.
